What’s Included in an Air Conditioning Service
Air conditioning should be serviced every year to keep it running efficiently, protect your health and maintain the manufacturer’s warranty. Here is exactly what our F-Gas registered engineers do on every service.
Outside – condenser unit
- Deep clean of the external condenser unit
- Refrigerant pipework leak-checked
- Gas pressures checked
Inside – indoor unit
- Cleaning of the evaporator unit
- Air filters removed and cleaned
- Heat exchanger cleaned with antibacterial spray
Every service finishes with full functional checks on both cooling and heating, and a service sheet issued on completion noting any recommendations or issues. Annual servicing keeps your system at full output and is required to keep the manufacturer’s warranty valid.
Please note: if a unit has not been serviced for a long time, or is in a dusty environment such as a workshop, the heat exchanger can become blocked and need an additional chemical and water flush to restore full performance. If that is the case, we will advise you on the day.

How often should air conditioning be serviced?
We recommend a service once a year for domestic systems. Regular servicing keeps the system efficient, protects your warranty and catches small problems before they become expensive ones.
How much does an air conditioning service cost?
A full annual service for a single mini-split system (one outdoor condenser and one indoor unit) is £130 + VAT, with an additional £30 + VAT for each extra indoor unit on multi-split systems.
What is included in an air conditioning service?
Outside we deep-clean the condenser, leak-check the refrigerant pipework and check gas pressures. Inside we clean the evaporator, remove and clean the filters and clean the heat exchanger with antibacterial spray. We finish with full cooling and heating checks and issue a service sheet with any recommendations.
Why does air conditioning need cleaning?
Dirty filters and coils harbour dust, mould and bacteria and make the system work harder. We clean units inside and out – filters, coils and condensate – so the air stays hygienic and the unit runs efficiently. It is both a health and an efficiency issue.
